Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the domestic intelligence and security service of the US and the principal law enforcement agency. The agency operates under the United States Department of Justice the The FBI is a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community and reports to both the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence. The FBI leads in counter-terrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal investigative organisations and lists more than 200 categories of Federal
Crimes. Most notably we highlight mail fraud, aircraft hijacking, kidnapping, identity theft, computer crimes, violations of the Federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), counterfeiting, violations of the Patriot Act, illegal wiretapping, electoral fraud, immigration offenses and violations of the Espionage Act.
It must be noted that most ‘Illegals’ (foreign agents in active operations), will in one form or other violate one of these Federal Laws of which all countries have similar.
The US has 16 intelligence agencies in total who since 9/11 have improved their interdepartmental
communications and collaboration after the failure of intelligence preventing the terrorist attack.
